Black Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras celebrations by Negro residents of Pass Christian were conducted on Fat Tuesday each year during the 1940s and 50s.
     Louis Raymond Perkins was one of the organizers of the Knights of Zeus, which conducted Mardi Gras Balls and Parades in downtown Pass Christian during 1939 and 1940.
